When deciding on the city or town that is right for you to call home you have to think about the type or property you are going to invest in. Buying a home is an exciting and scary thing all rolled into one, however knowing how to properly invest in real estate is a skill that will benefit you in many ways. Whether you are buying property to make your home or investing to turn around and make a profit there are definitely key things to be aware of and take into consideration. When purchasing my first home in Acton I was very green in the real estate field. However I reached out to a Phoenix based company DKings, which is not only a real estate mentoring company but also does “Fix & Flip” property renovation. I have to admit that starting out I felt intimidated and lacked confidence in myself in this field. Buying and selling real estate deals with a lot of money at stake and that was just plain scary to me. However working with Kaulana DeLeon the owner and creator of DKings was an experience that I can only call beneficial and amazing. Starting with next to no knowledge at all I took away from my mentoring program the skill set to buy and sell property, fix and flip houses with a big profit margin to my advantage, as well as soundly invest in a home of my own. Having worked with him over 2 years ago now I have thrown myself into the real estate business and have succeeded greatly. The awesome thing about it is if I still have questions or need mentoring I call kings and they continue to aid me in growing even more knowledgeable.
Those of you that live in Acton or perhaps just have visited know of the great towns and cities surrounding Acton. For those of you new to the area you might feel as if you have a little exploring to do. Where do you start? Well known cities close to Acton start with Los Angeles which is just a mere 29 miles away. Which means living in Acton would make you close to the big city and all its fame and excitement but still far enough away to enjoy a little bit more peace and quiet and a lot less of a populated city. Next we have Studio City that is 44 miles away. Known for it’s name and the fact the Brady Bunch house is located there, it is also home to many famous people. Driving around the city there you never know who you might run into. Next we have Anaheim, which we all is known for being the home of Disney Land! Totaling only 47 miles from Acton it is a short drive for you and your family to make Disney Land your playground for the day! Also known for other theme parks as well such as Disney California Adventure and Six Flags to name a few. Part of Orange County there are beautiful beaches to see as well. Next we have Long Beach which is just a short 2 miles from Anaheim with a total of 49 from Acton. Long Beach is the hub of shipping as well as other industrial business. With a lucrative oil industry that has slowly declined over the years, Long Beach may not be a place to raise a family but it does offer jobs in many fields.
Last I want to mention this impressive city, not because it is a short distance from Acton but because it isn’t really that far. With it’s beautiful beaches, beachy towns, awesome nightlife and beautiful sites San Diego, California is beloved by many! Only 135 miles from the city of Acton it makes for a good getaway destination or perhaps a long weekend exploring the San Diego Zoo, Pacific Beach or any of the seaside towns located within this city. With board walks to walk along, beaches to soak up the sun, play in the waves and relax in the sand, San Diego is a place of fun and beauty. Living in Acton we have made this city our vacation spot many times over the years. From exploring Gaslamp district with friends, watching the Padres play up against other major league Baseball teams at Chase Field, to listening to music at the House Of Blues, it is a city to be visited!
Acton is rather centrally located and has a lot of great near and not so far towns located in its proximity. With only a population of 21,929 Acton is one of the smaller cities located in California. If you like the smaller town feel but still want adventure at your doorstep, Action may be a town worth checking out. We feel it has a lot to offer and can be a great place to call home.
The community of Acton is involved in positively impacting the Acton youth. The children today are the future tomorrow….

Educating our youth on current issues, as well promoting communication and addressing their concerns or questions is essential in the positive development of our children. We must lead by example, promote the vocalization of current affairs, and encourage communication. Communication and really listening to what is being said by our youth helps us to hear what is being said, and even what not is being said. Read More

Heading down Crown Valley Road, a gold chrome, snake skin care sped passed me. No lie, chrome and snake skin, it was quite a looker. Let’s just say it stood out.
Come to learn, this type of customization is called a vehicle wrap. I began to do a little research on what exactly a vehicle wrap was, just for my own understanding, as what I say, although not my style, was quite amazing.
I came across a blog written by Haus of Wraps. They are a vehicle wrap shop in San Diego. Their blog provided some great info, but I decided to call and get a little more information.
I spoke with Ed, one of the owners. He was glad to provide me with information about the wrap industry, and come to find out, they are planning to open a shop in Acton by summer of this year….coincidence, small world…who knows.
After my research and the information provided by Ed, this article came to fruition.
What is a Vinyl Wrap?
In layman’s terms, a vinyl wrap basically like a big stick er that can be applied to a variety of surfaces. It is pressure sensitive and be molded to any shape. The film comes in a variety of colors, finishes, and textures. Images and graphics can also be printed on these films, truly making for customization of any project.
What can you wrap with vinyl?
Vinyl can be applied or installed to most surfaces, although most people are familiar with car wraps. Vinyl can be installed on cars, boats, trucks, walls, windows, ice chests, toilets…yes toilets, and more. Now you may not have seen a gold chrome snake skin car, but i’m sure you’ve seen a truck or van advertising their business info on their vehicle, well that is a vinyl as well. That is actually the graphics application. So really it’s all around us.
What is the Cost of Vinyl?
Well Ed told me that it depends on the what is being wrapped, if graphics are done, what material is used, and the amount of coverage that needs to be applied, which all makes sense. He did inform me that a vinyl used for a vehicle wrap is a lot cheaper (1/3 of the cost) than a paint job, and offers protection to the vehicle and paint itself. Read More
2016 is soon coming to a close, and a new year begins. The majority of us are creating the ever so famous tradition of the New Year’s resolutions list. The list that we preach to ourselves at the beginning of each year.
This year I will be diligent about my dieting and get down to my goal weight. This year I’m really getting serious about……
This year I plan to put more energy towards….
myself, my family, my children, my work, my peace of mind, my animals, my relationships….and the list goes on.
By definition a resolution is the decision to do or not to do something. This is great, especially in theory. However if action steps are not both planned, developed, and executed, one’s resolution gets added to next year’s resolution list. Does it seem that you’ve had the same New Year’s goals, or personal verbal commitments? If so, this article may be just what you need to read, whether your an Acton, CA resident, or a resident of Tim-buck-too.
It’s easy to calm ourselves and our minds with what we plan to do. Just getting that list down feels good. In our minds things are going to be different each year. And then something comes up, or happens, or offers an immediate excuse for the postponement of what we had the best intentions to being doing or stop doing. So what can we do?
There are a couple of ways to rewire the way we do things to promote results. First of all, ask yourself why you want to do what you are saying. Is it for you? Is it for someone else? Is it for a short term success? Long term success? Are you really attached to why you are doing it? Defining why you plan to out energy and action towards a goal, thought or plan is essential for success. If you don’t know why you are doing something, it’s hard to keep going.
Next once you understand why you are willing to put the time, and energy into your resolution, it’s important to define what it will take to make it happen, as well as be prepared for the obstacles you may face. Obstacles and speed bumps exist…end of story. It’s important not to focus on them, but to have a plan when they do arise. Next you must remember that if you fall down, you stand back up. Falling does not mean your legs are broken, it means they weakened for a moment, but you will stand again. Identifying what created the weakness and then preparing and strengthening those muscles will keep you on the road to success.
Solar Energy as an alternative energy is a very discussed topic, especially in California. Whether you are in Acton, or another Cali location, solar is bug new. California leads the solar market industry. It makes sense with the solar advocates and policies, along with the sun that bathes the pacific, and the fact that California is the most populated state in the U.S.
Although Acton is a small, considerable laid back town compared to other So Cal areas, solar still plays a big role in the local market.
We decided to offer some information on solar for those residing in Acton, as well as other locations in the largely populated, sunny state of California.
Solar energy is energy created by the sun. Solar cells, or solar technology capture the sun’s energy and convert it into a useable energy, one that can be used to power the many electric “necessities in life. Solar power therefore reduces the emissions and negative environmental effects that crude oil places on our world as a whole. I mean why not harness the natural power and energy from the sun and use it for our benefit. Whether or not your an environmental supporter or activist (although everyone should be considerate), solar energy reduces the amount of money spent on electricity. That directly impacts you because of money spent or money saved.
Currently there are both Federal and state incentives for people to go solar. Each state offers different incentives, rebates and tax breaks for people who “go solar”. Many areas of California have tapped out on these state incentives and rebates, although some are still available. Federal incentives are in place until December 31, 2019. The incentives prove to be very advantageous and help greatly to increase the return on your solar investment.
With the drive to increase the amount of green renewable energy sources and reduce our use of resources that negatively impact the environment, solar options have evolved.
Acton, Ca has higher than average energy costs, which may just be the leading reason that it is an area that has the highest percentage of home powered by solar. Located just north of Los Angeles, which by the way is one place in the nation that receives peak annual sunlight hours, Acton residents and businesses greatly benefit from opting for solar. Not all states allow for leasing panels, which is an appealing option to many people. Acton does allow for solar leasing, which gives residents more choices on how they can go solar. Solar leasing allows for a smaller upfront investment, being that you pay a monthly cost. That monthly cost should be smaller than your monthly electric bill for it to make financial sense, although environmental sense should also still be considered.
Acton residents on average receive a faster return on their initial solar investment because of the higher cost of energy combined with the available incentives. Check out our website directory and find a solar provider in Acton. Explore if solar energy is right for you from a financial standpoint, because form an eco friendly standpoint, it is right for everyone.
